Donate your time
Friends for Life Dog Rescue was created because five people wanted to help dogs and owners in their communities. It hasn't always been easy, but we kept our intention. However, we can use all the help we can get!
Do you love dogs and want to help but aren't sure how? There are so many opportunities to help the dogs and people in our community.
If you have free time...

Donate dog items:
We are always happy to accept donations of:
• Dog crates (used or new)
• Dog food (canned or dry)
• Dog treats or pill pockets
• Dog toys, puzzles, slow feeders, Kongs, Nylabones, etc.
• Regular 6 ft. leashes or long lines (no retractable leashes, please)
• Harnesses, head halters, or prong collars
• Igloo dog houses
Become a foster home
Foster homes are one of the most important pieces to help our rescue function. Without foster homes, we are not able to take in any dogs as we are a fully foster-based rescue. We are open to many different family and home situations for fosters as every dog's needs are different. We provide all food, supplies, and medical care for our foster homes. Foster homes provide time, space, and patience. It is helpful if foster homes are able to transport their fosters to meet-and-greet events as well as vet appointments, but we can usually have another volunteer step in to help when needed. Donate your bottles & cans
An easy way to help is by donating your returnable bottles and cans! We work with two local businesses to accept donations of returnables: Thompson's Redemption on Route 5 in Derby, VT and Buzzy's Redemption on East Main Street in Newport, VT. All you do is bring your returnable bottles and cans to either business and let them know they're for Friends for Life Dog Rescue!
Pull tickets at local bars
You can grab a drink and a bite to eat with a group of friends while supporting local businesses and the rescue! We currently are partnered with three local businesses that sell pull tickets to benefit our rescue: The Nook in Barton, Jasper's Tavern in Newport, and The Cow Palace in Derby. You get a chance to win some money while helping the dogs.
Help with fundraising events
We are always looking for volunteers to help with fundraising events, including:
• Bake sales
• Yard sales
• Bingo
• Benefit dinners
• Benefit dances
• And more!

Monetary donations
